Lesson 3B - Ripping paper

Hold your paper where you want to rip the paper and then tear the paper by moving your dominant hand towards you and the non-dominant hand away from you. You will have to move your fingers further down the paper every little bit. A white edge should show on patterned papers and for cardstocks the same colour shows through on the rip.

You can also use a ruler by placing it on top of the paper and hold it down firmly on top and rip on paper up towards you. This technique gives a finer rip. There are also special rulers you can buy to do this but they are not needed.

You can ink the paper after you rip it too (more on this next week).

Lesson 3A - Becoming saved

How/When/what/why/where did you become saved? Do you know what date (approximately) you accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour? What were the events of how it happened? Describe your heart at the time (as much as you can remember). Did someone help mentor/encourage you in your decision? (you might want to leave details if appropriate for the role models section).

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, “and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with you heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Romans 8:29 – For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his son, that he might be the first born among many brothers.

Ephesians 4 17-24

Ephesians 2 :1-9
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desired and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, make us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.
